How to Play Beast Saga
Beast Saga is a tactical tabletop game that simulates combat between beasts of mythology. It is a two-player game where each player controls up to five creatures in an attempt to defeat their opponent's beasts. The game can be played with any number of players, but for the purposes of this article, we will be discussing the two-player game.
To begin, each player selects five creatures from their Beast Deck and places them in front of them in what is called the Beast Line. The first creature in the line is called the Leader and is placed in the center of the line. The other four creatures are placed to the right and left of the Leader, with two on the right and two on the left.
The Beast Deck contains 48 cards, with each card representing a different beast. There are twelve different types of beasts, with four cards of each type. Be sure to shuffle your deck thoroughly before beginning play.
The object of the game is to defeat your opponent's Leader creature. This can be accomplished by either attacking it directly or by destroying all four beast creatures adjacent to it. In order to attack, you must first move one of your creatures into an adjacent space to your opponent's Leader. You can then attack with that creature as if it was in its original space. Remember that you can only attack once per turn, regardless of how many creatures you have moved.
Beasts can also be destroyed by either another creature's attack or by some other means such as poison or fire. When a beast creature is destroyed, it is removed from the playing area and placed in its owner's Beast Graveyard. If a Leader creature is destroyed, then the game ends immediately and the player who destroyed it wins automatically.
There are three different types of cards in Beast Saga - Action Cards, Creature Cards, and Environmental Cards. Action Cards are used only once and then discarded, while Creature Cards and Environmental Cards remain in play until they are destroyed or otherwise eliminated from play.
Action Cards can be used for a variety of purposes such as moving your creatures, attacking your opponents creatures, or even resurrection spells that bring dead beasts back to life! Creature Cards represent all sorts of different mythical creatures from dragons and gryphons to minotaurs and unicorns! And finally, Environmental Cards can provide various bonuses or effects depending on the situation at hand.
At the beginning of each player's turn they draw one card from their Beast Deck and place it at the bottom of their deck. If they draw a duplicate card then they must place it face down at the bottom of their deck instead. Play then proceeds clockwise around the table starting with the player on the left of the current player who takes their turn as normal.
